Conclusion

Considering the outcome from our economic and risk analysis, our group has concluded that this proposal is feasible and benefits both the environment and the oil & gas industry. This conclusion can be seen in the theoretical example in which the STEEP opportunities were implemented to create a plausible addition of carbon capture and storage at a hydraulic fracturing site. With the conduction of research and the creation of analysis, this is an optimal solution to reduce CO2 emissions at hydraulic fracturing sites. Also, by creating a survey to see the social perspective of carbon capture and storage added an element that portrays that this technology is accepted by society as long as it is not implemented in their backyard. This is an understandable circumstance which can be seen with a lot of other energy related technologies, but by using this technology at hydraulic fracturing sites the carbon emissions that are produced will be substantially diminished.
